Google has notify education customers that we are simplifying things by merging Gemini Education and Gemini Education Premium into one streamlined add-on: Google AI Pro for Education.
This new plan offers more value and easier access to advanced AI tools. Google AI Pro for Education.
Google AI Pro for Education now includes everything that was in Gemini Education Premium. It gives access to Gemini in Google Workspace apps like Docs and Meet, with smart features like AI-powered note-taking, summaries, and better security using AI.
From today, new customers and resellers can buy this single add-on. The older Gemini Education and Gemini Education Premium plans are no longer sold.
Getting going
Admins: No action is needed.
End users:- don’t need to do anything—nothing changes for them.
If you have a Gemini Education subscription, you now get all the features that were part of Gemini Education Premium. When it’s time to renew, your plan will automatically switch to Google AI Pro for Education.
If you have Gemini Education Premium, nothing changes right now. At your next renewal, your plan will automatically switch to Google AI Pro for Education.
When it’s available
Admin Console updates for new Google AI Pro for Education customers will start on August 28, 2025 and may take a few weeks to fully roll out.
For existing Gemini Education customers, all feature updates are already done.
Accessibility
This update is for schools using Google Workspace for Education that had Gemini Education or Premium add-ons before.
Now, Google AI Pro for Education is available as one simple add-on for:
- Education Fundamentals
- Education Standard
- Education Plus
It brings all the powerful AI tools into one easy package.
